My goal for 2017 is to get more connected with Opposite of Far friends & fans! In an effort to create a deeper Opposite of Far community and more mindfully encourage, support and celebrate play + imagination for all kiddos I'm collecting stories from my Imaginears (that's you!)! I want to hear how you and your kids use Opposite of Far in your daily lives, playtime and routines. I have heard stories as sweet and simple as a big brother placing tiger ears on his new baby brother. I have heard stories about children using masks as an ice-breaker of sorts when meeting other children for a play date. And I have heard stories of autistic children using Opposite of Far masks in therapy to improve speech and interpersonal skills.
Every single experience and story from my fans propels me forward to always improve designs & expand the brand to suit your children's needs! Over the past several years, I heard from parents of children with glasses & children with texture sensitivities that the masks just didn't work for their kids. I modified and customized masks for kids over the years by adding fleece to the backside for a softer touch & tiny piece of elastic that attached to the arms of glasses. But I knew I needed to offer a better way for ALL children to play + imagine with Opposite of Far, so I designed the Ears Collection! This is the best example of how you and the children in your lives inspire me! I want Opposite of Far to work for YOU! I want ALL kids to have access to an enriched and open-ended playtime!
So, friends, I'm calling out for stories & experiences that will not only inspire me but will speak to other adults and kids out there too. Share the way you play so that a mom stuck inside all winter might just find a new way to entertain her crazy 3 year old for 45 minutes! Or maybe a dad who has been struggling will realize slipping into character behind a robot mask is just the ticket to connecting with his non-verbal child!
Opposite of Far pieces are more than just toys-
they are TOOLS!
I definitely haven't figured out all the beneficial uses of Opposite of Far yet, but you're all teaching me new things every single day & I want to share that knowledge now, as a community!
