A visit to Opposite of Far Studio
We recently had some cute little studio visitors (big sis Ava, tiniest bro Maverick, little bro James and little sis Clementine) for a home-school field trip & we all had a blast! Their Aunt Val and I walked them through the process of making a crown from beginning to end! The kids were excited, attentive, kind, respectful and genuinely interested!
Aunt Val showed them how we measure out the felt, then either cut by hand with scissors or roll it through our die cutter. I think they especially loved watching and learning from their Aunt while they were visiting & she gained some serious cool points for organizing the coolest field trip ever!
The kids help Val roll the felt through the die cutter. After cutting out the pieces the kids watched me sew crown, then trim it.
Mama, April helps the kids look through their Opposite of Far swag!
They all enjoyed playing in the fun nooks around the studio, trying on all the masks & crowns and learning about everything we do here at Opposite of Far!
I LOVE having kids in the studio, they bring a whole new level of energy and inspiration to our work space!
Ava is the oldest of 4 kids (she's 10) and she wants to be a Comic book writer!
James loves sewing & his 2 stuffed lions (both named Chicken). He wants to be a "Mommy and a sew-er"...I think he would be a great addition to the Opposite of Far team!
Clementine has the BEST style and she loves golden tigers. She wants to be a fashion designer.
If you would like to visit the Opposite of Far studio for a field trip, we would LOVE to have you! We're located outside of Bloomington, Indiana. Please send an email to Jessica at oppositeoffar@gmail.com subject "studio field trip" to schedule a visit- all families and small groups are welcome!
