This variant is currently sold out
A popular favorite at Zoos, ring-tailed lemurs are natively found only on the African island of Madagascar. When the ring-tailed lemur isn’t moving nimbly through the trees, they spend a lot of their time on the ground, which is unusual among the lemur species. The love to search for fruit and eat leaves, flowers, tree bark and sap. Ring-tailed lemurs have powerful scent glands and use them as a way of communication and even sometimes as a weapon. Males use their unique odor during mating season to “outstink” other males for dominance. They can live in groups, known as troops, as large as 30 animals, and almost every troop has one dominate female that presides over all members. Due to the quickly vanishing forests that ring-tailed lemurs love, they have been placed on the endangered species list.
